The Diploma of Applied Social Sciences is the perfect fast-tracked qualification to equip you with the competencies to become a chaplain.
You have the option of completing the required units first (Working With Mental Health and Case Management and Practice Interventions) to fast track your placement in a school. You will complete the following Eight (8) subjects:
Semester 1:
- Introduction to Sociology
- Professional Communication Skills
- Working With Mental Health
- Exploring Practices for Spiritual Formation
Semester 2:
- Decolonizing Practice
- Case Management and Practice Interventions
- Meaningful Living
- Critical Youth Work OR Counselling Skills*
DURATION: 12 months full-time or part-time equivalent
*Requires on-campus attendance
