Developing the Craft of People Helping

Looking to E X P A N D your capacity and skill set to support others?

"Developing the Craft of People Helping"

'Developing the Craft of People Helping' is a two part workshop focused on 1) how sociology can inform the helping professions and 2) coaching & mentoring skills. The workshop is held over the course of two Thursday evenings (4th and 18th of August):

PART A) Making Visible the Invisible: how sociology can inform the helping professions

Thursday, 4th August, 5pm to 8pm

- Dr Kirsten Macaitis -

Just as a fish does not realise it is surrounded by water, so we too can be unaware of the sociological - and often invisible - influences that surround and impact both us and our work. This workshop explores how an understanding of sociological frameworks can help those working in people-helping professions to better understand others and perform their roles more effectively.

PART B) COACHING & MENTORING SKILLS
How to support sustainable wellbeing & growth in the helping professions

Thursday, 18th August, 5pm to 8pm

- Richard Schirmer -

There is a growing awareness of the need for effective coaching, mentoring and supervision within many community-based helping professions. This workshop will provide you with a greater understanding of the importance and place of these disciplines in promoting sustainable wellbeing and growth for those who regularly help others and explore various skills and tools that have been found to aid in their effective application.

Tickets priced from $250 which covers both evenings
