God’s Faithfulness: Rooted in His Promises
Scripture:
"God is not a human being, that he should lie, or a mortal, that he should change his mind. Has he promised, and will he not do it? Has he spoken, and will he not fulfil it?"
— Numbers 23:19

In a world where change is constant and uncertainty often feels overwhelming, the faithfulness of God stands as our unshakable foundation. Numbers 23:19 reminds us that God is not like humans who falter or waver. When He speaks, His promises are sure. What He commits to, He fulfills. This is not just a comforting thought—it’s a call to trust, remember, and root ourselves deeply in His faithfulness.
Johan Roux beautifully illustrates this through the imagery of rainbows and deep roots. He says:
“These rainbows, remember, are a sign that I’m faithful to my promises. I’m faithful to my promises. So the message that you have to carry back for the next season is: God is faithful to His promises.”
The rainbow is not just a symbol; it is a living reminder that God’s promises endure across seasons. Even when life’s circumstances change, His faithfulness remains the constant root from which all growth springs.
Roux continues, painting a vivid picture of spiritual growth:
“We don’t change the roots of the tree — that kills the tree. We don’t change the vision. Seasons change, assignments change, programs may change, but the root remains the same and feeds the tree no matter the colour of the fruit….Then Christ will make His home in your hearts as you trust in Him…Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. Next level, deeper, grow the deep roots.”
This metaphor of the tree calls us to evaluate where we are anchored. Are our roots reaching deep into God’s love, feeding our faith even when the surface circumstances shift? Trusting God’s promises is not passive; it is an active, daily commitment to let His faithfulness shape and sustain us.
As you move forward in your personal journey, or lead others in ministry, business, or community, remember this: God’s promises are unwavering. Let your roots grow deeper in His love, let your faithfulness mirror His, and carry the assurance that whatever season you face, He is faithful.
