Dr Pete Court was very excited to announce he has been named winner of the 2022 Stringybark twisted short story award.
The competition draws writers from around the globe, presenting stories of twisted fun and adventure. Pete’s story “Like Clockwork” was also selected as the title story of the compilation. As exciting as this was, Pete says he was even more proud to notice that, on the list of highly commended stories to be published in the compilation, was ‘Ride of Her life’ by masters student Elaine Henderson. Elaine is a distance student in the Master of Creative Writing and communication and say she wrote her story ‘when the Hawkesbury floods were causing havoc.’ So before she has even finished her degree, Elaine is another of our students getting her work published professionally alongside her lecturers. And her lecturers couldn’t be more proud.
